Grub Control Winston-Salem

Grub Control

If you’ve been faithfully watering your lawn yet are still seeing unsightly brown patches, it could be that you don’t have a moisture problem, but rather a grub problem instead. White grubs are the larvae of Japanese beetles, both of which are very destructive to your grass, plants, and flowers.

As they grow, larvae have voracious appetites and, if not controlled, can quickly destroy an entire lawn. These pests are particularly destructive throughout the southeast, and controlling them is complicated by the fact that they are so well protected beneath the soil surface. Nature's Select™ Premium Turf Services, Inc. provides lawn grub control measures in Winston-Salem and nearby areas. Contact us at (336) 768-7999 to request your free estimate.

Grub Life Cycle

Unless they are controlled, grubs perpetuate a cycle of destruction throughout the year.

Spring
Grubs Awaken

Grubs awaken from the winter season and immediately begin feeding on grass roots. They soon change into pupae.

Summer
Pupae Emerges

Pupae emerge as beetles, including Japanese beetles, which eat leaves and flowers. Soon after, they lay their eggs in the soil.

Fall
Eggs Hatch

The eggs hatch into grubs and the cycle begins once again.

Grub Treatment for a Healthy Lawn

The best time of the year to apply insecticide controls is during late spring and early summer. Nature's Select™ has developed a treatment program which, if applied during this time period, will provide season-long control of grubs and other lawn-infesting insect pests. We can also provide a very effective treatment in the fall if the earlier time period is missed.

Utilizing our select lawn care program can also help your lawn to be the best it can be. Our biological products work from the roots up to infuse nutrients and health into your lawn and plants, while being gentle on beneficial insects and pollinators. Sometimes, however, entire areas of the country come under infestations or are subject to disease due to weather patterns. When that happens, you can count on us for help. You may also find our lawn tips and tree and shrub tips helpful for taking your lawn to the next level.

Whether you’re interested in caring for your plant beds and natural areas of your lawn, or grub control is uppermost on your mind during the summer months, contact Nature's Select™ at (336) 768-7999. We serve Winston-Salem and the nearby areas, including Pfafftown and Clemmons.
