What’s Included in Our 5-Step Tree and Shrub Care Program?

When you’ve taken the time to invest in a beautifully landscaped yard, you want to ensure that your investment is protected and nourished to remain at its healthiest. Nature’s Select® gives your plants the TLC they need with our year-long 5-step care program. Read below to find out how this thorough program protects from disease, nourishes the soil, and fertilizes your plants for maximum health.

Step 1 - Soil Nourishment

In the first two months of the year, our expert team applies a biologically-enhanced fertilizer directly into the soil. If it’s been an especially tough winter, we also apply a granular fertilizer as needed.

Step 2 - Pest Prevention

In March or April, our skilled providers administer a horticultural oil specifically designed for pest prevention. Over the winter months, soft-bodied insects tend to lay their eggs in the cold, damp soil. The oil controls and protects your greenery from these annoying pests.

Step 3 - Disease Control

Step three of the annual schedule is designed to control insects and prevent fungal disease, and we also apply the second round of enhanced fertilizer. This application is specific to the months of May and June, when summer is just beginning.

Step 4 - Enhanced Protection

Add a second layer of protection from grubs and insects, in July, August, and September. A third application of our enhanced fertilizer is included, and fungal diseases are controlled as well.

Step 5 - Winter Protection

With the last step of our annual tree and shrub health care program, we ensure your greens are protected and nourished during the windy, cold months of October, November, and December. We include a second yearly application of horticultural oil to guard against winter burn and to destroy those nasty smooth-bodied insects and eggs.

At Nature's Select®, we make it our mission to defend and nourish your property investment. We are happy to answer any questions you may have on how our eco-friendly treatment programs can nurture your outdoor investment. Contact us at or request your free online estimate today.
